LINX Juniper LAN - traffic issues - Issue resolved

Thu, Jun 27th 2013, 15:44

We have seen a significant drop in third party network traffic over the LINX Juniper LAN due to stability issues on the peering LAN.

The impact for our customers would be traffic re-routing via alternative routes and diverse paths, we have N+5 paths to most UK networks so customers should not experience any kind of major problem.

We are closely monitoring the peering LAN. More updates to follow.

We have restored all peering over the LINX Juniper LAN. Linx themselves identified a router as being at fault. All routing over this path appears normal and this incident is closed.

Due to 95% of peers on the LINX Juniper LAN shutting down their BGP sessions to us, we have taken the decision to close the peering LAN port down for the moment.

This will prevent any disruption as networks decide over the evening to re-introduce the peering sessions. If everything is stable we will bring the peering LAN back into service from midnight tonight. An update will follow about this.
